Through collaboration with community, experts and the business community, the UFS has brought in a number of significant changes including a strict tree protection bylaw, better ecological practices for trees on public lands with attention to bidoversity and climate adaptation, and an Urban Ranger program for management of trees on private lands. The results have been impressive with 105,000 new plantings and an estimated 3,000 trees per year retained
